Student Code of Conduct and School Regulation
At Gyan Heritage School, education is regarded as a harmonious blend of academic excellence, moral integrity, and responsible citizenship. The
school strives to nurture disciplined, confident, and compassionate individuals who respect themselves, others, and their environment.
To maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning and character formation, students are expected to observe the following rules and regulations. Parents
and guardians are requested to cooperate with the school in ensuring that these standards are upheld at all times.
1. Attendance and Regularity
Regular attendance is essential for meaningful learning. Students are expected to attend school every day unless prevented by illness or
unavoidable circumstances.
- A minimum attendance of 90% of the total working days in an academic year is required for a student to be eligible to appear in the
examinations.
- Attendance on the first working day after vacations or long holidays is compulsory.
2. Punctuality
Students must arrive at school well before the commencement of the morning assembly.
- Late arrival disrupts the academic routine and is strongly discouraged.
- Students arriving late may not be permitted to attend classes without the prior permission of the Principal or the concerned authority.
3. Leave and Absence
Students should not remain absent from school without proper information.
- A written leave application from the parent or guardian must be submitted in advance for planned absences.
- In case of sudden illness or emergency, parents should inform the school at the earliest possible time.
- Students suffering from contagious or infectious diseases must submit a fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner before
returning to school.
4. Academic Responsibility
Students are expected to take their academic responsibilities seriously.
- Classwork, homework, written assignments, projects, and class tests form an integral part of the learning process and are considered during
overall academic assessment.
- Students must complete all academic tasks sincerely and within the prescribed time.
5. Discipline and Behaviour
Students are expected to conduct themselves with courtesy, respect, and responsibility at all times.
- Respect for teachers, staff members, fellow students, and school property is essential.
- Persistent indiscipline, repeated absence without permission, or misconduct may lead to disciplinary action.
The Principal reserves the right to suspend or rusticate a student whose behaviour is found to be detrimental to the discipline and reputation
of the school.
6. Movement within the School Premises
Students must remain within the school premises during school hours.
- No student is allowed to leave the school campus without written permission from the Principal.
- Any instance of absence, late arrival, or half-day leave must be recorded in the school diary and duly signed by the parents.
7. Personal Appearance and Uniform
Students must attend school in the prescribed school uniform and maintain a neat and tidy appearance.
- Hair should be clean, properly groomed, and well maintained.
- Nails should be short and clean at all times.
- The use of make-up, nail polish, henna, or decorative ornaments is not permitted in school.
- Students may wear a simple wristwatch and small studs or earrings, where appropriate.
8. Care of Personal and School Property
Students are responsible for the safety and care of their personal belongings.
- The school will not be responsible for loss or misplacement of books, money, stationery, or other personal items.
- Any damage caused to school property must be compensated for by the student responsible.
9. Bicycle Regulations
Students who commute to school by bicycle must observe the following guidelines:
- Bicycles must be parked only in the designated bicycle stand provided within the school premises.
- Students should ensure that their bicycles are properly locked to prevent loss or misplacement.
- Students must ride their bicycles carefully and responsibly, observing traffic rules and ensuring the safety of themselves and others while
commuting to and from school
10. Participation in School Activities
Participation in school activities such as sports, cultural programmes, and annual functions is considered an important aspect of the
student’s overall development.
Students are expected to actively participate in these activities and may be required to arrange costumes or materials as specified for
certain events during the academic year.
